About Projects Contact

Céline Bodson (Ghent, 1977) is a violinist. A performer, project creator and teacher, she brings fantasy, audacity and elegance to Belgian and international stages, such as Bozar, de Singel, and the Philharmonie du Luxembourg, as well as the Festival d'Ambronay, the Cité de La Musique, the Philharmonie de Paris, Flagey, the Musée d'Orsay, the Festival de Stavelot, Les Flâneries Musicales de Reims, the Opéra de Bordeaux, the Opéra de Dijon and the Opéra de Rouen.

In 2018, she founded the Sarrasine duo with Belgian pianist Sara Picavet. In 2019, their tandem took part in Thomas Turine s’Oratorio Hourrite Vertigo as part of the Semaine du Son in Brussels. In 2022, they were invited to the Festival Musiq'3 in Brussels to create the augmented concert Au plus près, which, in collaboration with video artist Isabelle Françaix and lighting designer Hugues Girard, showcased works by György Kurtág and Johann Sebastian Bach. The same year, Sarrasine recorded the world premiere of Stéphane Orlando's Zambinella, for Patrick Leterme's Ce n'est pas tout, a commission suggested by Céline and based on Balzac's short story Sarrasine, which gave the duo its name.

Eleven years as part of the quartet 'Alfama' have honed her mastery of the violin, which she now dedicates to increasingly personal and collaborative projects. She dares to reinterpret Bach, Vivaldi and Pergolesi in the Jardin des Musiques Baroques Électroniques with Thomas Turine, Aveline Monnoyer and Jean Fürst.

Specialised in teaching violin to young children, she is also a methodology teacher at the Conservatoire de Mons.
